50 Years of Accente Services

Love of good food gave rise to Accente Gastronomie Service GmbH in 1959.

Accente celebrated its golden jubilee on 14 December 2009 with a large gala event in the company’s own restaurant, Depot 1899, with around 700 guests.

Success Story

With annual revenues of around 30 million euros, the company is far ahead of other trade fair caterers nationwide. More than 180 salaried employees and around 3,000 contract and part-time employees make this possible.

A new name

Accente was founded on 14 December 1959 as the Frankfurter Messe-Gaststätten GmbH; it bore this name for 31 years before the management elected to change the name to better fit the much larger range of services provided. The company, of which the majority today is owned by the Messe Frankfurt Venue GmbH & Co. KG, was renamed Accente Gastronomie Service GmbH.

Range of Services

One of the most important success factors for Accente is the wide range of services. This includes providing sustenance to exhibitors and visitors to the Frankfurt Messe. This includes – as needed – up to 24 self- and full-service restaurants and up to 60 bistros on the grounds. In addition to this is the catering of seminars, congresses and events in the Congress Center, in the event hall and in the Forum. A comprehensive food service packet is made possible with an in-house staff service, delivery to stands, furniture and equipment rentals, supermarkets, in-house logistics, the “Cucina” canteen and the Depot 1899 restaurant in Sachsenhausen.

Quality and Quantity

The delectables enjoyed by exhibitors, trade fair guests and event visitors are created in the Accente kitchens. Accente prepares over 10,000 fresh snacks (sandwiches, salads, etc.) per day for small to medium-sized trade fair events. In addition to this are 11,000 guests present daily for large events who expect a full meal or buffet.

To keep up with all of this, we need massive amounts of materials in addition to our powerful logistics – including our own fleet of electric hauliers, refrigerated lorries, trucks and pickups.

The Accente headquarters in the Dependance building at the Frankfurt Messe houses the largest kitchen in Hesse:
